The Tale of Little Albert
Once, there was a child so small,
Who found in white a tender call.
A rabbit soft, a warmth so near,
But soon his joy would turn to fear.
For every time he reached to play,
A thunderous sound would come his way.
The rabbit’s fur, no harm it brought,
Yet terror struck with every thought.

A teddy bear, with arms to hold,
Once promised comfort, soft and bold.
Yet unseen hands would intervene,
And fill the air with something mean.
A velvet cat, so kind and still,
Should bring delight, yet brought a chill.
The hidden noise, a cruel disguise,
Turned tender trust to wary eyes.

The child, so young, began to learn,
That reaching out would always burn.
No longer did he seek embrace,
But shrank instead from every face.
The joy of touch, the warmth of heart,
Were crushed by fear’s relentless art.
And Albert, now, could not recall
The love that once had warmed his soul.
